The Moramarco Maria Teresa Farm is located in Altamura, in the heart of the Alta Murgia. In this high natural value context, farm management is oriented toward biodiversity conservation, soil protection, and the resilience of agroecosystems.

Inherited from her father, the farm is now managed by Maria Teresa with the support of her husband, following a family-based model that integrates managerial skills with an agroecological vision.

In 2021, the farm area was expanded to 12 hectares with the introduction of an almond orchard, strengthening the farm’s productive identity. Attention to food quality and environmental responsibility, also shaped by personal and family experience, has always guided entrepreneurial choices.

Certified organic, the farm cultivates arable crops (Saragolla Lucana wheat and legumes), vineyards, olive groves, and almond trees. Crop rotation between cereals and legumes improves soil fertility and reduces pest pressure. Fertilization is carried out using vermicompost, which increases organic matter and enhances the soil’s ability to cope with drought. Grass cover in the olive grove helps prevent erosion and supports beneficial insects, while the use of rainwater reduces water waste.

Future projects include the development of an educational farm and the introduction of laying hens in the almond orchard using mobile systems, in order to integrate livestock and crop production within a circular approach. Participation in local networks further strengthens the farm’s commitment to a shared and participatory agroecological transition.
