Agroecological best practices in the Mediterranean
A selection of agroecological best practices identified within the framework of the project AgrEcoMed is available online.
The experiences presented demonstrate the contribution of agroecology to environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and the resilience of Mediterranean agricultural systems. Particular attention has been paid to initiatives led by women and young people, with the aim of highlighting their strategic role in fostering innovation, knowledge exchange, and the transition towards more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient agri-food systems.
The seven experiences from Spain, Tunisia, and Morocco – analyzed through desk research rather than fieldwork – are presented as examples of agricultural innovation in the region, as they reflect approaches focused on environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and the empowerment of local communities.
