The Mediterranean that nourishes: women, grains, memories and connections to cultivate

On October 15th in Matera, the event “The Mediterranean that nourishes: women, grains, memories and connections to cultivate” will take place, organized by CREA – Research Centre for Policies and Bioeconomy, in collaboration with the University of Basilicata (UNIBAS) and the Basilicata Region.

The program includes the 3rd Training Workshop “Agroecology and Precision Agriculture” and the Talk “Women and Cereal Growing: Stories, Challenges and Good Practices”, a multi-voice dialogue featuring women farmers engaged in sustainable transition pathways, experts in agroecology, and representatives from the research community.

The event will continue with the award ceremony of the photo contest “Agroecology. Mediterranean Landscapes”, followed by hands-on workshops on fresh Lucanian pasta, focaccia, and couscous, organized in collaboration with Slow Food to celebrate local knowledge and Mediterranean food cultures.

Part of the 15th Edition of the CEREALIA Festival, the initiative offers an opportunity to reflect on the strategic role of women’s leadership in transforming agri-food systems.
