From Friday, October 4 to Sunday, October 6, the G7 discussions on gender equality and women’s empowerment will continue in Matera.
The “City of Stones,” renewing its commitment to defending social achievements, will host ministerial discussions on two key areas:
- ending gender-based violence against women and strengthening support for victims
- women’s empowerment, nations’ empowerment: a collective commitment to promote gender equality
Achieving gender equality and ensuring women fully enjoy their fundamental rights is one of the most important global challenges. The G7 represents a critical opportunity to address these issues, developing and agreeing on effective strategies to promote women’s empowerment and their full participation in all sectors of work, business, and public life, for a more inclusive and supportive society.
